SEASON: January - February 2024 Per Master Agreement Schedule “C” Guidelines Job Goal: The Middle School Head Wrestling Coach is responsible for managing practices, games, and recruitment of players each season in accordance with MHSAA rules and regulations.
The coach must make prospective student-athletes aware of all policies and procedures in the Athletic Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated successful accomplishments as Wrestling Coach in high school.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Successful experience coaching at the high school level (Varsity preferred).
Successful experience as a player at the high school/college level.
Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and supervise the Middle School Wrestling program.
Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Design a training program and game program.
Organize and supervise all practices, meets, travel to assure that the program is properly managed.
Ensure that all athletic activities conform to the PSD Athletic Handbook.
Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations, if applicable.
Ensure that student-athletes adhere to training rules, grade policies, and rules of behavior.
Ensure the continual supervision of student-athletes on the court, in conditioning, and in the locker room.
Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques.
Support the value of education.
Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
