POSITION GOAL: This position serves the St.
Joseph County Career and Technical Education (CTE) Consortium in supporting CTE teachers and teacher assistants in instructional planning and delivery.
The CTE Consultant will also collaborate with the Director of CTE to plan and coordinate professional development for CTE staff.
In addition, the position will support activities that align with federal Perkins Core Performance Indicators.
Finally, the position provides mentorship to all CTE staff that hold annual career authorizations (ACAs).
Qualifications:
Possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent), classroom teaching experience, administrative experience, and/or familiarity with Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Demonstrate successful teaching experience
Familiarity with CTE, legal issues, policies, research, trends and best practices in CTE
Knowledge of Perkins Core Performance Indicators
Ability to plan and facilitate professional learning
Working knowledge of Google for Education applications
Demonstrate a capacity to learn quickly and share new learning with others by designing and implementing professional learning opportunities
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences
Demonstrate skills in organization and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with deadlines independently
Demonstrate personal integrity, professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day
Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance and the physical ability to do the job
Performance Responsibilities:
Support CTE Consortium instructors and teacher assistants with lesson planning.
Provide classroom management support and guidance.
Assist with classroom and lab organization.
Support teachers with grading techniques (i.
e.
, evidence based grading, etc.
).
Provide various formative and summative assessment instruments and guidance.
Model effective teaching strategies in CTE Consortium classrooms.
Provide instructional coaching support.
Plan and facilitate professional development for CTE staff.
Provide effective tools for teachers that support student activities related to Perkins Core Performance Indicators
Serve as a mentor to all CTE staff that hold an annual career authorization (ACA).
Assist CTE teachers with the CIP Self Review Process as it relates to Program Delivery.
Support CTE teachers with Curriculum Development and Implementation (i.
e.
, Perkins Course Competencies, etc)
Coordinate CTE state-approved credentials and reporting
Other duties as assigned.
