SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing Summit’s global finance activities including managing the monthly close, monthly financial reporting/consolidation, accounting activities, shared services, and special studies.
The Global Corporate Controller will be tasked with recommending and implementing global control and process improvement projects.
The position will also coordinate with external auditors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of finance activities.
Summit’s global scope includes operations in the United States, Mexico, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Financial Reporting and Consolidation
* Lead the implementation of a new consolidation system (OneStream or equivalent)
* Coordinate monthly financial reporting and consolidation process
* Prepare monthly statements for review with senior management team
* Manage global process to ensure consistency between affiliates
* Establish global best practices to ensure data quality
* Optimize global reporting activities
* Provide financial analysis to help drive decision making with Summit
Accounting Activities
* Manage the monthly close process on a global basis
* Manage the global Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, & Payroll activities
* Monitor fixed asset accounting to ensure accuracy
* Direct the revenue accounting team
* Establish global accounting standards
* Ensure account reconciliations are completed timely
* Investigate technical US GAAP issues as required
* Audit internal controls to ensure adequacy and compliance
Special Studies
* Lead special studies to allow senior management to address areas of critical need
* Ensure accounting systems adequately highlight key issues
* Propose improvements to existing accounting systems
* Manage system migrations as necessary
Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Five years experience as a senior global finance and accounting leader
* MBA or equivalent preferred
* CPA or equivalent preferred
*SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*
* Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate global finance activities
* Experience developing accounting strategies
* Excellent organizational skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead a global organization
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does require up to 25% travel.
