*Position Title: Cleaning Crew Manager * *Department: Operations * *Supervisor: Director of Operations & Exhibits * *Revised: 11/2023 * *Position Summary:* Are you a cleaning professional skilled in developing and implementing strategies to maintain high-quality sanitation and safety standards in a public facility? Do you love to build and motivate teams to provide the sparkle and shine that enhances the guest experience? If you answered yes, then the Air Zoo may have the perfect role for you! *Status:* Exempt (Salary); Full Time *Measurables: *Effectively lead the cleaning crew to ensure the Air Zoo facilities are maintained to an excellent standard, and drive a team to provide a professional, can-do attitude to all staff and guests.

*Cleaning Responsibilities * * Provide service during museum operating hours, conducting bathroom refreshes, cleaning Kitty-Hawk café mezzanine, and ensuring cleaning support during special events in all areas of the museum.
* Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls.
* Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones.
* Empty trash and recycling bins.
* Periodic dusting.
* Special projects, as directed.
*Safety and Training * * Make sure all crew members are trained to use appropriate equipment and provide periodic training refreshers.
* Ensure that equipment is in proper working order by conducting regular maintenance checks.
* Understand and review MSDS sheets for all supplies, make sure all safety practices are followed with regard to all chemicals, materials, tools and equipment.
*Scheduling, Team Support and Other Functions* * Maintain cleaning supplies inventory, placing orders for new products when needed.
* Work with events, education, and guest experience departments to ensure there is coverage for day and evening events.
* Attends all appropriate internal staff meetings.
* Provides a remarkable experience for every guest of the Air Zoo with every action and every interaction.
*Education and Experience Requirements: * * High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
* 1 -2 years supervisory experience including, establishing and nurturing strong working relationships.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * * Inspiring, motivating, “will do” attitude with a passion for positively impacting the Air Zoo.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule of evenings and weekends as needed.
* Must be flexible with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations.
* Excellent communications skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Well-groomed appearance and compliance with the dress and personal appearance policies.
* Professional work and punctuality habits.
* Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet minimum driving requirements.
* Physical abilities include prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at a time.

_ *SCHEDULE: *Full-time 40 per week.
The schedule will include a variety of days, evening, and weekend hours.
The work is performed in-person at the Air Zoo in Portage, Michigan.
*HEALTH REQUIREMENT & Pre-Employment SCREENINGS:* Because the Air Zoo is a public-facing organization, we encourage employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the CDC, but it is not a requirement for employment.
The Air Zoo follows CDC and Kalamazoo Health Department’s guidelines for COVID testing, isolation, mask wearing, and may require masks to be worn by employees in certain settings to improve safety.
Pre-employment drug screening and state/federal background checks are required for all Air Zoo employees.
*COMPENSATION:* $18-$20 commensurate with education and experience.
